Painted Scenes tells stories through watercolour.

Whilst growing up on Isle of Arran, I became fascinated with story telling. I was an enthusiastic actor in every play or amateur film I could be a part of; I spent hours devising worlds and writing 'novels'; and, of course, I experimented with art. I loved to work with inks, oil pastels & pencils but, for me, watercolour was the most diverse and exciting medium.

I moved to Glasgow to study Acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland but continued to paint, slowly honing a style that spoke to me. During this period I started taking commissions & quickly discovered a love for celebrating other peoples special memories or favourite places. They would share with me what they wanted from the piece, what it would mean to them - and we would create something together. It felt like story telling.

I am now based in Edinburgh, where I now work as a Watercolour Artist, Actor, Writer & Tutor. I find each of these different disciplines informs and inspires the other.
